How to Make a Solid Style Cookie-Cutter

For this project, you'l need a white background of any shape, and a smaller image to go inside it and create the cut-out transparency. I'm going to use these two.

fly14.gif (111 x 91)

#1) Take the white background to Image Magick and press "View". Click on the "Composite" tab and enter the url for your second image. Use center gravity, and from the drop-down menu, choose "Minus". Leave all other settings the same and press "Composite".

This is the result.

The black comes from the transparent background of the second image, but don't worry, we're going to get rid of that. Output the image as a gif and copy the temporary url to your cache.

#2) Take the temp. url to GifWorks and choose "Edit" --> "Replace Color" to change the black to white.

Click on "File" --> "Save" to save your result, and that's it - you're done! You now have a solid cookie-cutter that you can fill with any pattern you desire.
